My Travel
Recommendations

I have traveled a lot in Vietnam already and I have very good recommendations for you if you are planning to come here. From the North to the South of Vietnam or the other way round, it's all up to you!

Note: I divided Vietnam geographically to make it easier for you so I talk about North, Central and South Vietnam.

In general, it depends on the time that you want to spend in Vietnam. Please check if you need a visa to travel to Vietnam and how long it will allow you to stay here. Another factor is the weather as the seasons are different in the North, Central and South.

The distances in Vietnam are big and taking buses and trains can take a lot of time. It's not only about the distance in kilometers, but about the actual travel time when traveling around mountainous areas (especially in the North). That's why I would recommend to check on the travel times between your destinations and the best travel options while planning your trip.

No one likes to rush around with heavy luggage and a full day travel schedule. Take time for every spot to experience the most of it. There is so much to see!

I've traveled the North, Central and South twice within three weeks and I can tell that it can be a bit too much. Of course it depends on what you want to see but the landscapes in the North are just amazing. So I would recommend to spend most of your time there.

Central Vietnam has beautiful beaches around An Bang and Da Nang, colorful Hoi An old town and a rich history to discover in Hue. You can travel inbetween Da Nang and Hue by taking a scenic train ride over the famous Hai Van Pass which only takes around 3 hours.

If you have more than two or three weeks, you can discover more in the South. But what you should never miss out on is Ho Chi Minh City. The city is vibrant and full of motorbikes, nice people, cute coffee shops and good local food. From here, you can do a day trip to Mekong Delta, too.

I've lived in the Central Highlands for a few months so I can only recommend to come to Dalat if you have the chance to. It's simply beautiful and it's less hot because it's in the mountains.

Enjoy your journey and the beauty of Vietnam!

North Vietnam

The North of Vietnam is rich in culture and history and the landscapes are absolutely amazing. Dive into the crazy traffic of Hanoi. explore the unique nature around Ninh Binh or Mai Chau and enjoy the sunset at Lan Ha Bay.

Stunning views of rivers and rice fields surrounded by mountains, great local food and interesting history - that's what is waiting for you in the North!

Central Vietnam

Don't forget about what's between the North and the South! Central Vietnam has a lot to offer, especially beautiful beaches and delicious food.

And not to forget about Hoi An and it's unique ancient town lighted up by thousands of lanterns at night!

South Vietnam

South Vietnam is famous for it's fast growing Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta, the Central Highlands and some nice spots along the coast as Vung Tau, Mui Ne and Nha Trang.

I spend most of my time in the South and I love the people and the food here a lot!
