I'm happy in Vietnam!

​A few years ago, I was living a completely different life.

​

Back in Germany, I was a pharmacist and business owner. On paper, everything looked successful. I had built a career, carried responsibility and followed the path I thought I was supposed to take.

But somewhere along the way, I lost myself.

The pressure became overwhelming. I felt disconnected from who I really was and from the life I was living. Eventually, I reached a point where I knew something had to change.

And then, the hardest time of my life followed. Because it was a long process to leave behind everything and especially my family and friends in Germany.

What was meant to be a journey through Southeast Asia became a journey back to myself.
I found healing, peace and love within myself.

​

After many months of travelling through Vietnam, I returned to Germany, believing I had to continue my old life. Yet something inside me knew that my story wasn't finished. So I left again.

​

I followed my heart back to Vietnam. To the Mekong Delta, where I had never been before.

And that decision changed everything.

In a small coffeeshop in Rach Gia, I met Tuong.

​

He grew up in Cà Mau and speaks only Vietnamese. By then, I had learned enough Vietnamese to communicate, and somehow, despite our different cultures, languages and life experiences, we understood each other from the very beginning.

​

Today, we are raising our daughter Mai together and building a life that neither of us could have imagined before we met.

Together, we are creating Villa Bình An – a peaceful place where cultures, languages, families, travelers and locals can connect, learn from one another and share meaningful experiences.

​

HappyinVN started as a way for me to document my journey in Vietnam.

Over time, it became something much bigger.

​

Today, HappyinVN is a community of people who are curious about Vietnam, interested in personal growth, cultural exchange, Buddhism, travel, food and the beautiful everyday moments that make life meaningful.

​

Through my videos, stories and articles, I sharemy experiences and life learnings.

​

Not only the famous places, but also the people, traditions, challenges, joys and lessons that have shaped my life here.

​

My hope is simple:

To inspire others to follow their hearts, stay open to unexpected opportunities and discover the beauty that can be found when we step outside our comfort zones.

Because if there is one thing I have learned, it is this:

The most beautiful chapters of our lives are often the ones we never planned.
