THE VISION
Before I even knew that I wanted to travel to Vietnam, I had a vision of a mango farm and saw my daughter playing there with her dad. It was a peaceful place, but I didn't know where it was. Mekong Delta is the region where most mangos grow in all of Vietnam. Is it really coincidence that I came here, fell in love, found that garden and now raise our daughter here?
This is the mango tree that we planted for our daughter when she was born.
THE DREAM
Since Tuong and me (Anni) first met, we wanted to work together and create a place to welcome others. First, Tuong ran two homestays. But now, we focus all our energy on the project that we call "Villa Bình An" - the Villa of Peace. It's supposed to be a coffeeshop but also a place where people can meet and connect. Different cultures , languages and life stories in one place - just like our own story.
We are currently still building up everything from scratch with the help of local people from our neighborhood.
But I also want to share all the way and the progress of the current renovations with you because building up a dream is not easy and we work hard for it. So sharing all the steps is to inspire you to have the courage to just start - whatever it is.

Sustainability
We try to take care of the environment by using solar energy, carefully select the materials and not waste anything of it ("Tuong's speciality")
Supporting Locals
We built up Villa Bình An with local people from our neighborhood. They are all part of the project.
Love
We want to inspire others by everything we do. Our main intention is always to do something meaningful by sharing our love.
No Perfection but Courage
We came to Can Tho with nothing but two backpacks on a motorbike. We struggled to start because our perfection held us back. It took courage to start and not to be perfect, but that was the only way to start.
Language
I want to help Vietnamese kids to speak English so they can use what they learn in school to communicate. My inspiration for this idea was Tuong because he learnt English in school but cannot speak it.
Peace & Gratitude
We take breaks and rest to remind ourselves to be grateful for everything we have.
