MAI CHAU

Mai Chau is a small town in the Northwest region of Vietnam.

It's about 3 hours away from Hanoi and I really like it because it's so quiet there and the nature is just beautiful.

On the way to Ma Chau, you will pass Thung Ke Pass which gives you very scenic views of the area.

Bikeride in the Ricefields

Rent a bicycle and drive around the villages Ban Lac, Ban Na Phon and Nhot Village. It's extra beautiful for sunset!

Ban Lac

Ban Lac is the most touristy village with some souvenir shops, coffeeshops and restaurants. Weaving is a traditional method of textile production in the area.

Chieu Cave

The hike up to Chieu Cave was not long but as it was so hot, we felt kinda exhausted. The stalactites and stalagmites are very impressive so it's worth the over 1.000 stair steps! The light is the most beautiful in the afternoon (Vietnamese: "chiều").

On the way to Chieu Cave, you will have beautiful views of Mai Chau.

Lovely place in the rice fields where you can have nice drinks and food.

Little Mai Chau Homestay

Very nice place to stay in Mai Chau as it's quiet and peaceful. They also have a pool so it's perfect to relax here.
