NINH BINH

Until now, I've only spend one day in Ninh Binh as I went there on a daytrip from Hanoi.

It's worth to go longer though as there is a lot to see and discover. My highlight was the view from Dragon Mountain. The best time to see lush yellow rice fields is May or September as there are two rice harvest seasons per year.

Trang An is nice too but be aware that it can be super busy on the water!

Mua Cave & Dragon Mountain

The views from Dragon Mountain are just amazing. If you walk up, go left first (I felt like it was less busy). The way up is not too exhausting.

Mua Cave is located inside of the mountain but I think going the top is much more interesting.

Trang An

Trang An is an UNESCO World Heritage Site so it became very popular. You can do a boat cave tour and stop over at some pagodas on the way. I admire the strong women and men who row here every day.

Bai Dinh Pagoda

Bai Dinh Pagoda is a Buddhist temple complex close to Ninh Binh. It consists of one acient pagoda on a mountain (Vietnamese: "đinh") and a newly contructed, larger pagoda.
