PHU QUOC

Phu Quoc is the most popular island of Vietnam so many people go there. There are many hotels, resorts and restaurants. Phu Quoc has an airport so you can either fly there or go by ferry from Rach Gia or Ha Tien.

If you want to explore the island, the best place to stay is Duong Dong.

I like Phu Quoc because of the memories I made there with the friends I visited. All of them work in hospitality, because Phu Quoc offers many job opportunities for Vietnamese people.

I would recommend you to visit Phu Quoc if you like beach holiday or just want to stay in a nice resort. If you want more local vibes of Vietnam, I would say that you should visit other islands though.

An Nhien Retreat

I really liked to stay at An Nhien Retreat.

They have a swimming pool surrounded by bungalows and it is nice to sit in the garden.

They also offer yoga and the beach is close by.

Food

Phu Quoc offers basically everything. They have a lot of Western style restaurants, less local kitchens like I normally go to. But I also found some on Phu Quoc.

As it's an island, seafood is the most popular food here.

Starfish Beach

This beach is famous because of its starfishes. But to get there is a bit difficult as you have to go by boat. That's why it's not busy there, too.

We rented a boat from Rach Vem, the road to get there is bumpy and there are only restaurants. We spoke Vietnamese so we got a boat that took us to the beach first, then to one of the restaurants out on the water.

It was a unique experience!
