RACH GIA

Rach Gia in Kien Giang Province is a coastal city from where you can go to Phu Quoc Island by ferry.

I like Rach Gia as a city, but most of the people just come here because of the harbour.

You can also go to other islands like Hon Son, Nam Du and Hon Tre. These small islands are very beautiful and less touristy, tropical vibes only! Life on these islands seems to be slower and simpler. Whenever you go there you will feel it right away.

I recommend you to stay in Rach Gia (for example at Stay Hotel) at least one night before taking a ferry to one of the islands close by.

Cafe Ca Bong

Nice coffeeshop in Rach Gia. Try some butterfly pea tea here.

ISLANDS

Take a ferry
to tropical paradise

Most of the people go to Phu Quoc which takes around 2-3 hours from Rach Gia. But you can also go to smaller islands like Hon Son or Nam Du Island.

You can go with Phu Quoc Express or Superdong. Buy their ticket in your hotel or at their ticket office and make sure you bring your passport as it will be checked when buying a ticket and for boarding the ferry.

You can also bring a motorbike on the ferry like many Vietnamese people do.

HON SON

Coming to Hon Son Island felt like a dream came true. I enjoyed every minute here even when my rental motorbike was broken.

You can discover the whole island in one day.

I recommend to have coffee at Coffee The Bike or Lanam Coffee & Bar.

Go to Bai Bang to take a photo with the famous palm tree like I did!

Just a toilet in paradise.
